PolarSeal Heated Tops
Have you ever been so cold that no matter how many layers you wear it just doesn’t cut it? Wearing more layers to stay warm is annoying and weighs you down, luckily there is a solution called PolarSeal. PolarSeal is a new kickstarter company that has developed a new type of heated sportswear. Most company’s advertise thermal sportswear like under Armour or Nike but their shirts don’t keep you warm during cold weather.
At a touch of a button the PolarSeal top sends a signal to heating coils in the back of the shirt creating instant heat within seconds. The technology behind the coils are innovative and new, you wont even realize that they are there. The polarseal heated tops are unlike anything you have ever seen before, each shirt has a waterproof button that controls the temperature and where you need the heat. Each button has a color coded LED light embedded within to let you know which setting is chosen, each Led button is shock proof so to endure what ever life throws at it. There are no wires that travel through the shirt, PolarSeal uses high tech materials to transfer electrical signals from a power bank located in the front pocket to the coils that heat up the back of the shirt.
Power banks or power cells are basically a battery that can be charged either by wall outlet or by the sun, if it is solar powered. PolarSeal does not provide the power banks but instead lets the buyer source their own so they have the freedom to choose the price, brand and whether it charges through USB or solar. Depending on the battery that you choose, the PolarSeal shirt can provide at least 8 hours of heat on a single charge. This means that you can with stand the coldest weather conditions for a full day.The heated shirts that PolarSeal provides is just the icing on the cake, each shirt is designed and manufactured to be light weight, breathable and comfortable. Each shirt is water proof which means you can ski, snowboard, hike or jog in the rain without damaging the shirt. When washing the shirt just hand wash by hand and let air dry.
Interview with the Polar Seal Team
I was lucky enough to be able to sit down and interview one of the creators of Polar Seal. His vision along with his team began when they were skiing and needed some extra heat. Adding extra clothing can only take you so far, so they decided to create a heated top that kept you warm but without the heavy layers. Whats makes their product stand out is the flexibility, all of the other heated garments are bulky or require an attachment device to the article of clothing. The Polar seal does not need any external parts to produce heat, the shirt itself will produce all of the warmth you need. You can fund their Kickstarter campaign here or see there latest news and timeline release. The Polar Seal will go for $139.
